• The Short Story:
Robby Faris went a perfect 4-4 at the plate as  the Johns Hopkins baseball team jumped out to a 10-0 lead against Saint Michael's on Thursday afternoon and Blue Jays went onto defeat the Purple Knights, 11-6.
How it Happened
• For the second straight day, JHU jumped out to an early 4-0 lead as the Blue Jays scored four runs in the top of the first, highlighted by a three-run home run by
Jared deFaria.
Mike Eberle registered the other RBI in the inning as his single plated Faris who had doubled to left.
• The Blue Jays made the score 7-0 in the second thanks to a two-RBI single from Faris and an RBI single from
Nate Davis.
• Another three-run inning for Johns Hopkins made the score 10-0 in the fourth Faris and Davis both crossed the plate on wild pitches and deFaria doubled home
Adam Kohl in the inning.
• The Purple Knights got on the board in the fifth scoring three runs to make it a 10-3 game. They then added two more runs in the sixth to cut the Blue Jay lead in half, making it a 10-5 JHU lead.
• Johns Hopkins added an insurance run in the eighth on a Davis RBI single that plated Faris to make it an 11-5 game.
• Saint Michael's got a run in the ninth to make the score 11-6, but
John Donohue shut the door on the Purple Knights' rally as Hopkins won the game, 11-6.

What it Means
• This was the first-ever meeting between the schools.
• The Blue Jays are now 7-1 when scoring first and are 3-1 when scoring 10 or more runs.
Inside the Box Score
• Faris had a career day at the plate notching  career bests in hits (four), RBI (two) and runs scored (four).
• deFaria also had a career day as the freshman hit his first collegiate home run and knocked in a career-best four runs in the game.
• Davis finished the day 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. The three hits are a career high for the junior.

Jonah Offman went 3.1 innings with three hits and four strikeouts in his first start as a Blue Jay. Carmichael went three innings to earn the win as the freshman allowed just two hits while striking out five.
