rd-ranked Johns Hopkins men's tennis team shutout visiting Washington College Wednesday to clinch the top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament.

• Freshman
Eric Burrer and senior
Scott Thygesen gave the Blue Jays an early 1-0 lead as they beat Jake Sandler and Andrew Smith, 8-3, at first doubles. Sophomore
Alex Matisse and senior
Colin Muraika followed with an 8-4 win at second over Kyle Hickey and Koby Bonta. Sophomore
Jack Hogan and freshman
Brian Wang wrapped up the sweep of doubles with an 8-0 defeat of August Meriot and Mitchell Evans at third.
• Wang picked up the first singles point, losing just one game in his win over Hickey at second. Muraika then clinched the win, also losing just one game, as he defeated Evans at sixth. Hogan followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Smith at fifth.
• Freshman
Naevin Anukornchaikul then beat Sandler 6-4, 6-3 at first. Burrer picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win over Bonta at fourth and sophomore
Matt Lurie closed out the win with a 6-2, 7-6 (3) victory over Meriot at third.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 42-24 all-time against Washington College and picks up its 16
th straight win in the series.
• The Blue Jays secure the top seed in next week's Centennial Conference Tournament with one match to go. JHU will host the tournament for the 12
th time in the last 13 years.
• Thygesen moves into a tie for 18
th in school history with his 45
th career doubles win.
