The Muhlenberg track and field teams combined to win eight events at their annual home indoor invitational.
Four of the event winners were freshmen, headed by
Emily Mitchell. She won the long jump, adding a quarter-inch to her personal best (which ranks second on the Mules' all-time performance list), and also came in fourth in the triple jump and seventh in the 200 meters.
Classmate
Alana Noehrenberg (pictured above left) tied for first in the high jump. Freshman winners for the men were
Jack Weinberger in the 800 and
Zach Lill in the pole vault. Lill upped his personal best by two inches, becoming the eighth Muhlenberg vaulter to clear 13 feet indoors.
Three seniors and a sophomore accounted for the other first-place finishes. Senior
Anthony Ware (pictured above right) coasted to a win in the 55 meters. His time of 6.51 in the final easily eclipsed the second-place time of 6.63, and his time of 6.50 in the prelims was just four hundredths of a second off his own school record.
Senior
Hayley Steckler led a 1-2-3 Mule finish in the women's 800, and senior
Michael Havkins won the shot put by more than three feet. Sophomore
Matt Polanco took first place in the 55-meter hurdles.
