SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore College Men's Soccer blanked Methodist University 1-0 at Clothier Field for its first win of the year on Sunday.
The Garnet (1-1) scored their first goal of the season in the 15th minute and tightened up their defense, allowing just six shots throughout the entire game. Swarthmore took 15 shots but only three of them were on goal.
Sophomore midfielder
Woojin Shin scored the Swarthmore goal on an assist from sophomore defender
Michael Gross. The assist was the first point of Gross' young career.
It only took two saves for Garnet junior goaltender
Oliver Steinglass to record his first shutout of the season. He had four last year.
Swarthmore travels to Widener University in Chester, Pa., for a game against the Pride on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
