CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to regionally-ranked Washington College on Saturday.
Washington (11-4, 6-2 CC), which came in ranked 19th in the Atlantic South Region, swept through doubles play. Senior
Erin Sweeney (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) and freshman
Shaye Barnes (Rye, N.Y./Rye) fell by an 8-5 count at the third flight.
The Shorewomen swept each of the six singles competitions in straight-sets. Julie Lazer topped junior
Maria Martinovic (Lawrence Township, N.J./Princeton Day School) 6-3, 6-0 at first singles.
Gettysburg heads to McDaniel College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
