SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Down 26-22 at halftime, Swarthmore College Women's Basketball couldn't keep it close in the second half as Washington College won the game 71-39 on Wednesday night.

The Shorewomen jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first 2:50 of the game, but Swarthmore came right back with a 14-2 run over the final 6:21 of the first quarter. Five different players scored during the Garnet's run. Freshman forward Erin Cronin scored four of her seven points on the night in that span. She also tied senior forward Audra Woodside with a team-high six rebounds in the game.

Junior guard Elizabeth Stiles had a career-high five steals in the loss, brining her total to a team-best 27 this season. She also leads the team in points (177) and assists (53) during the 2018-19 campaign.

Freshman guard Kim Kockenmeister led the Garnet with nine points on Wedensday as she knocked down all four of her free-throw attempts. She also had a team-high three assists.

Swarthmore was unable to slow down Washington's balanced scoring attack as 10 Shorewomen scored and four reached double-figures.

The Garnet welcome No. 23-ranked Gettysburg College for another Centennial Conference home game on Saturday at 1 p.m. This game is the first of two at Tarble Pavilion on Saturday as the No. 16 Swarthmore men face the Bullets at approximately 3 p.m.
