WESTMINSTER, Md. & CARLISLE, Pa.--Swarthmore College Men's Tennis split up and traveled to beat both McDaniel College and Dickinson College 9-0 on Friday.
The Garnet have now blanked their first three conference opponents.
Match One: Swarthmore 9, McDaniel 0
Seniors
Ari Cepelewicz and
Michael Song won the closest doubles match, 8-2, in the No. 1 spot. Junior
Evan Han and freshman
Noah Cheng picked up an 8-1 win at No. 2. Winning via 8-0 shutout were senior
Yosuke Higashi and sophomore
William Teoh.
All six Garnet athletes won singles in two sets: Han in the No. 1 spot, Song at No. 2, Cepelewicz in No. 3, Higashi at No. 4, Cheng at No. 5 and Teoh in the No. 6 slot.
Match Two: Swarthmore 9, Dickinson 0
Seniors
Mark Fallati and
Josh Powell won a close 8-6 match at No. 1 doubles. In the No. 2 spot, junior
Simon Vernier and freshman
Thibault Vernier teamed up to win 8-5. Freshman
Jiung Jung and senior
Blake Oetting won 8-1.
No Swarthmore player lost a set in singles as Fallati, T. Vernier, S. Vernier, Powell, freshman
John Lathrop and Jung won in that order.
The Garnet welcome Gettysburg College to Swarthmore on Saturday at 3 p.m.
