WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Gettysburg College women's tennis team didn't drop a game on the way to a clean sweep (9-0) of McDaniel College for its first Centennial Conference victory of the season.
 
Gettysburg (5-4, 1-1 CC) swept through doubles play at McDaniel (1-4, 0-2 CC). Junior Samantha Boardman (Greenwich, Conn./Brooks School) and sophomore Amanda Vinges (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) posted an 8-0 win at the top flight, while the senior tandem of Maria Martinovic (Lawrence Township, N.J./Princeton Day School) and Maddie Class (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) posted the same score at No. 2. The Bullets earned a forfeit victory at the third spot.
 
Each of the five singles matches contested resulted in 6-0, 6-0 scores with the sixth flight going down as a forfeit in favor of Gettysburg. Martinovic and Class each improved to 6-3 with wins at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively, while Boardman upped her record this spring to 4-1 at the third flight. Vinges cruised at the second position and freshman Alexis Rinker (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) rounded out the victors in the matches played.
 
Gettysburg heads to Juniata College for a rescheduled non-conference affair on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
