Both Muhlenberg cross country teams came in fifth at the Centennial Conference Championships in chilly, rainy conditions at Haverford.

The women improved on their sixth-place finish of the previous two years and were closer to third place than they were to sixth place. Junior Santina Zouras led the Mules by coming in 23rd, halving her 46th-place finish of a year ago.

Freshman Marielle Avola followed Zouras across the finish line; her 24th-place showing was the best by a Muhlenberg freshman since 2010. Another freshman, Abby Dalton, was the next Mule to finish, coming in 30th.

The men finished in the top five for the fourth straight year and the sixth time in the last seven years. Junior Jason Richwall placed 13th, improving his finish from last year by five spots. Senior Corey Mullins was 16th, landing in the top 20 at the CC meet for the fourth year in a row.
