Box Score 4 FORT MYERS, Fla.—Swarthmore College Softball wrapped up its spring break trip with a 7-1 record and improved to 8-2 overall this season. Swarthmore won a pair of games on Wednesday and Thursday, beating Salem State 9-5 and Edgewood College 13-5 on Wednesday and then topping Nazareth College 12-2 in five innings and Newbury College 12-0 in five as well on Thursday.

Swarthmore trailed 5-2 going into the top of the sixth inning before exploding for nine runs that frame.
Kalli Segel brought in the first run of the inning with an RBI-double.
Gabriella Natoli hit an RBI-single to even the game at 5-5, and
Marisa Mancini gave Swarthmore a 6-5 lead on a bases-loaded single to right.
Another run scored on an error and a walk of
Mika Maenaga brought home two more runs and kept the bases loaded. Edgewood changed pitchers, but on the first pitch of the at-bat,
Kennedy Kings smashed a grand slam to give Swarthmore the 12-5 advantage.
Kings added another RBI in the seventh inning and finished the game 3-for-3 from the plate with a walk and six RBIs.
Natoli and
Marit Vike both recorded three hits in the win.
Pitcher
Emily Bowman got the win in three innings of relief, striking out two batters and walking one.
Nazareth 2, Swarthmore 12
Swarthmore rolled past Nazareth for the first of two five inning wins on Thursday. The Garnet broke the game open with five runs in the second and six more in the third.
Kings batted in four runs while going 2-for-4 from the plate. Vike went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Maenaga batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Bowman pitched four innings in the start and struck out three batters to get the win.
Newbury 0, Swarthmore 12
The Garnet only allowed two hits from Newbury in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader.
Lucy Decker got the win in the circle, striking out five batters.
Maenaga,
Emilie Morse, Segel and Natoli all batted in two runs. Vike had another three hits (3-for-3), Maenaga went 2-for-2 as did Morse.
Swarthmore posted a pair of runs in the first inning and then cranked out 10 more runs in the third inning. Natoli had a big hit in the middle of the third inning, smacking a two-RBI triple.
The Garnet return home to play at home on Saturday against Immaculata University.
