CHESTERTOWN, Md.--Swarthmore College Women's Tennis defeated Centennial Conference opponent Washington College 7-2 on Tuesday.
The Garnet are 7-7 overall and 6-0 in conference play.
In first doubles, senior
Anna Scheibmeir and sophomore
Emma Kassan defeated a pair of Shorewomen 8-6. In the two spot, sophomore
Shirline Wee and junior
Julia Gokhberg won 8-2. And senior
Rachel Bronkema teamed up with junior
Arya Jemal in the No. 3 slot to win 8-3.
Four Garnet athletes were victorious in singles, and three of those individuals were forced to a third set. Kassan won 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 in the No. 1 position. Scheibmeir came back to win 5-7, 6-1, 6-0 in third singles. Jemal picked up a 7-5, 4-6, 10-6 victory in the fourth spot, and sophomore
Audrey Haring won in two 6-1 sets.
Swarthmore returns home for a match against Haverford College on Friday at 4 p.m.
