Competing at Ursinus for the second time in three weeks, the Muhlenberg track and field teams showed they are on the right path for their third trip to Collegeville - for the Centennial Conference Championships in three weeks.
The Mules combined for 22 new or improved CC qualifiers at the Frank Colden Invitational, a large non-scoring meet.
Two Muhlenberg distance runners posted ECAC-qualifying times - senior
Jaryd Flank in the 3000 and junior
Jamie Pacilio in the mile. Flank won with a time of 8:35.13 - the fastest in the CC season and a clocking topped in program history only by Flank himself, last year.
Pacilio
(pictured above left) placed fifth in the mile. Her time of 5:17.61 took three-and-a-half seconds off her personal best and moved her into seventh place on the Mules' all-time performance list.
Sophomore
Corey Mullins entered the performance list in sixth place after finishing his first collegiate 3000 in 8:51.50. Moving up on the Muhlenberg performance list were freshman hurdlers
Rashida Haye and
Matt Polanco, both lowering their previous personal bests by more than a tenth of a second.
Junior
Emily Davidson posted the highest finish for the women's team, coming in second in the 800. Junior
Anthony Calantoni also claimed the runner-up spot in the 800 for the men, while junior
Michael Havkins finished third in the shot put.
