BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's swimming team opened with victories in eight of the first nine events and cruised to a 132-68 decision in its season and Centennial Conference opener at Bryn Mawr College Saturday afternoon.
Gettysburg (1-0, 1-0 CC) took the top two places in all eight of its victories before swimming the final two races as exhibitions. Three freshmen –
Megan Wojnar (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan),
Katie Cooper (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan), and
Katie Jenkins (Bow, N.H./Bow) – teamed with junior
Kate Crilly (Shrewsbury, N.J./Ranney School) for a meet-opening victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.57.
All four of the aforementioned swimmers added individual wins. Wojnar picked up two wins, first claiming the 200 IM in 2:16.98 before winning the 500 free in 5:25.78. Cooper edged senior teammate
Johnna Hock (Timonium, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) in both the 50 free (25.59) and the 100 breaststroke (1:10.97), swimming the latter event as an exhibition. Jenkins earned the top spot in the 100 fly (1:01.07), while Crilly sped off to a win in the 100 free in 55.04.
Sophomore
Katherine Sears (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) won the 1,000 free by 11 seconds with a time of 11:13.57. Senior
Lindsay Hayden (Enfield, Conn./Suffield Academy) posted the top time in the 200 free (2:00.78) and finished second to Crilly in the 100 free (57.03).

Maggie Morehouse (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) touched the wall second in both the 500 free (5:33.70) and 1,000 free (11:24.63), while sophomore
Sydney Jaramillo (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional) produced a pair of runner-ups in the 200 IM (2:19.71) and 100 fly (1:02.51). Freshman
Cate Kosko (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury East) finished second in the 200 free (2:04.44) and third in the 100 free (57.04). First-year
Chloe Fuetterer (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) placed second in the 100 back (1:03.80).

Gettysburg returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 3, with a dual at Washington College at 1 p.m.
