YORK, Pa. – The Gettysburg College wrestling team earned a split in a pair of non-conference dual matches on Saturday afternoon, first taking down Penn State Mont Alto 39-10 before suffering a 37-12 defeat at the hands of York (Pa.) College inside the M&T Bank Field House.

Match Highlights
- Gettysburg rolled out to a 27-0 lead with wins in the first five matches wrestled. The first two matches didn't make it past the opening period with sophomore Luke Kowalski (Derwood, Md./Saint John's College) scoring his 20th win of the season via pin-fall at 133 (2:10). Sophomore Julian Amadio (Bloomingdale, N.J./Butler) followed with a first-period technical fall (16-1) at 141.
- Junior Eric Mougalian (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) featured in one of only two matches to go the full seven minutes in the contest, coming away with an 11-0 major decision over Bryce Palamar at 149 pounds.
- The next two matches didn't last three minutes combined. Sophomore Jake Dressler (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) made short work of his foe at 157 with a 66-second pin and senior Ray Martin (Downingtown, Pa./West Chester Henderson) followed with a fall in 1:33 at 165.
- Gettysburg closed the match with wins at 197 and heavyweight. Junior Brendan Loder (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) flipped Kyle Davis on his back in less than two minutes in the former bout, while freshman Antoni Esquivias (Aspers, Pa./Biglerville) closed the day with a forfeit victory.

Match Highlights
- Kowalski faced one of his stiffest tests of the season in the form of fifth-ranked and unbeaten Dalton Rohrbaugh at 133 pounds. Rohrbaugh, who recently won the Middle Atlantic Conference title, handed the Gettysburg sophomore just his fifth loss of the season with a 14-2 major decision.
- Mougalian put Gettysburg on the scoreboard with a 10-5 decision over Jared Bair at 149. With the two wins on the day, Mougalian improved to 12-13 overall.
- A showdown between No. 7 Eric Hutchinson and Martin was off the docket as Hutchinson dropped down to 157 and scored a major decision win. Martin followed suit with a quick pin of Timmy Sparks at 165. It was the senior's team-leading 10th pin of the campaign and 34th of his career, which moves him into a tie with Matt Shank '08 for fourth in program history. With his two victories Saturday, Martin has won 11-straight matches and improved to 23-5 this year.
- Gettysburg's final win against York came from freshman Blake Silber (Wrightstown, Pa./Council Rock North). After going to overtime with Garrett Butt, Silber managed to a takedown midway through sudden victory for the 6-4 win.

Next Up
Gettysburg wraps up its Centennial Conference dual schedule next Saturday, Feb. 5, at McDaniel College. The Bullets will face United States Merchant Marine Academy, Johns Hopkins University, and Muhlenberg College with opening bouts scheduled for noon.
