SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming defeated the Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats 146-59 at home on Friday night to earned a Centennial Conference dual meet victory.
Swarthmore opened the meet with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. With a pair of freshman in the squad—
Horace Shew and
Jeremy Rockaway—the Garnet won the opening event in 3:28.41.
Freshman
Tom Ward claimed first in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:54.83 and then in the mid-distance 500 free, won that with a time of 4:50.64.
Alec Menzer won the 200 free in 1:43.32, and also won the 100 free in 47.35.
Senior
Jeffrey Tse took the 200 IM in 1:56.02.
Jeff Mun registered a time of 2:03.47 to take first in the 200 fly.
Raveesh Koul and
Luke Wang took second and third, respectively, as Swarthmore swept the event.
Rockaway finished first in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.06).
The Garnet closed out the competition with a win in the 400 free relay, posting a time of 3:10.28.
Swarthmore jumps right back into the pool on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ursinus College for another conference dual meet.
