BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's track and field enjoyed a number of strong performances at the Lehigh University John Covert Classic on Saturday.
The meet was the team's first in nearly two months, as the Bullets last competed in its season-opening Franklin & Marshall Invitational back on Dec. 2.
No team scoring was kept at the event, which featured a mix of Division I, II, and III competition.
Two months after running at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, senior
Elizabeth Hilfrank (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional) and junior
Sarah Rinehart (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) performed well in their first track meet of the season.
Hilfrank, a cross country All-American, placed third among 17 competitors in the 5,000-meter run, clocking a personal record of 18:26.05. She was also the top Division III finisher, and her time ranks her seventh in school history. It was the first track meet for Hilfrank since the 2016 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships, as she missed the 2016 outdoor season with injury and studied abroad during the 2017 spring semester.

She also placed 15th among 42 harriers in the mile (5:37.34) and anchored the 1,600-meter relay team that placed sixth out of 18 schools and was the second-best Division III team. Running the first three legs were sophomore
