LEBANON, Pa. – Junior
Danny Harcourt (Fanwood, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) shot a 1-under-par 71, leading the Gettysburg College men's golf team to a third-place finish among 17 teams at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Fall Invitational on Monday at the Lebanon Country Club.
The Bullets recorded their top score in four rounds this fall, shooting a 308. Lebanon Valley won with a 301 while Penn State Berks took second with a 307. Following Gettysburg in the top-five were Stevenson (313) and Marywood (315).
Harcourt finished just one stroke behind Andrew Cornish of Penn State Berks and medalist David Herbst of LVC. It was the eighth time Harcourt has recorded an even or sub-par round for the Bullets.
Finishing close behind was freshman
Daniel Rieger (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), who carded a 74 to finish in a three-way tie for fifth in the field of 83. Sophomore
Christian Haldeman (Center Valley, Pa./Moravian Academy) tied for 27th with an 81 while freshman
Quinn Greene (New Milford, Pa./Canterbury School) rounded out the team scoring, tying for 36th with an 82. Freshman
Ben Ferris (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day School) also competed and placed 69th with a 91.
Gettysburg returns to action on Thursday when the "B" team travels to the Moravian Invitational.
