SWARTHMORE, Pa.--Swarthmore College Women's Tennis improved to 7-0 in Centennial Conference matches this season, beating Haverford College 6-3 on Friday afternoon.
The Garnet (9-8 overall) started the day by winning all three doubles matches. Sophomore
Emma Kassan and senior
Anna Scheibmeir won 8-4 in the first position. Sophomore
Shirline Wee and junior
Julia Gokhberg were victorious in the No. 2 spot by an 8-4 score as well. In third doubles, junior
Arya Jemal and senior
Rachel Bronkema won 8-6.
Three Swarthmore players won singles matches. Jemal won 7-6, 5-2 in the No. 3 slot, sophomore
Audrey Haring picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5, and junior
Shivani Gupta earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory in sixth position.
Muhlenberg College is the next opponent for the Garnet. The two teams play at Swarthmore on April 20 at 4 p.m.
