Johns Hopkins Shuts Out NC Wesleyan, 3-0

LeFevre Earns First Career Shutout

The Basics
• Score: #13 Johns Hopkins-3, NC Wesleyan-0
• Records: JHU (2-0-0) • NCWC (0-2-0)
• Location: Fredericksburg, VA • Battleground Athletic Complex
• The Short Story: The 13th-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer team got goals from three different players in a 3-0 win over NC Wesleyan at the Mary Washington Soccer Classic Saturday.

How it Happened
• Hopkins wasted no time in taking the early lead as freshman Herson Morales scored what proved to be the game-winner just 1:47 into the contest. Senior Gerrit Church one-touched a pass to Morales, who beat Julian Bergman for his first career goal. Less than a minute later, the game was interrupted by lightning and a delay of two hours followed.
•  Cole Rosenberger doubled the Blue Jays' lead in the 33rd minute when he converted a penalty kick after sophomore Ben Bae was fouled in the box. It was the senior defender's first goal since October 31, 2015.
• The Battling Bishops had a chance to cut the deficit in half when they drew a penalty kick in the 49th minute. Sheriff Secka's shot missed the goal wide however and NC Wesleyan remained off the board.
• Sophomore Jonathon Brown capped the scoring in the 87th minute when he outran his defender, collected a pass from classmate Liam Creedon and slotted a shot to the far post.

What it Means
