How It Happened…
  • First Quarter: In a back-and-forth first stanza, the Bullets took off with back-to-back three-pointers by Rice and classmate Christina Richson (Summit, N.J./Summit) with under 1:20 to go. Brown extended the lead to eight off a lay-up with 27 seconds left, but a made free throw by the Garnet Dana Bandurick made it a seven-point advantage heading into the second stanza.
  • Second Quarter: The Garnet opened the second stanza with a 9-3 surge to come within one. The Bullets rattled five consecutive points, but the team then went scoreless for the next several minutes as the hosts went on a 7-0 run to take the one-point lead with under one minute left. Rice regained the advantage for the Orange and Blue as she dropped in a bucket as time expired to go up 27-26 at intermission and to finish the first half with 13 points.
  • Third Quarter: A trey by senior Kiera Cesareo (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) 22 seconds in the second half pulled the Bullets ahead to four. The lead was short lived as the Garnet went ahead by one as Elizabeth Stiles scored five straight points. Gettysburg outscored Swarthmore 14-10 to close out the third with the three-point margin.
  • Fourth Quarter: Gehrin netted four and Brown added a pair of made free throws to make it 50-43 with 7:40 on the clock. A three-pointer by Isabelle Ewart and a lay-up by Kendall Tribus brought the Garnet within two-points 57 seconds later, but that was the closest the hosts would get as the Bullets drained back-to-back-to-back treys to help seal the deal.
By the Numbers
  • Gettysburg finished 22-of-56 (39.3 percent) from the field, 9-of-20 (45 percent) from three-point range, and 8-of-11 (72.7 percent) from the free throw line.
  • Gehrin logged in her second career double-double. She posted 15 points and 10 rebounds, going 7-of-12 from the field. The senior has made 35-of-68 (51.5 percent) of her shots from the floor this season.
  • Rice registered a career-high 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, which is a career-best. Her previous career-high mark was 14 points that she accomplished at Bryn Mawr College last season.
  • Swarthmore went 18-of-53 (34 percent) from the floor and 11-of-19 (57.9 percent) from the charity stripe.
  • The Bullets held the 38-37 advantage in rebounds.
  • Gettysburg's bench outscored Swarthmore's 33-24.
  • The lead changed seven times and the score was tied three times.
