ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa.  – The Gettysburg College women's golf team began its fall campaign at the McDaniel College Invitational held at The Bridges Golf Club on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
 
Missing its top three scorers who are all studying abroad this semester, Gettysburg finished fifth among seven teams with a score of 397. Stevenson University won the team title with a 343.
 
Senior Gillian Marini (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) paced the Bullets with an 88 to finish in a tie for seventh. Making her collegiate debut, freshman Cameron D'Amica (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley) tied for 14th with a 94.
 
Seniors Virginia Martin (Pearland, Texas/Dawson) and Keira Cooney (Glenmoore, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and sophomore Lindsay Waller (Perry, Mich./Perry) rounded out the lineup with scores of 100, 115, and 125, respectively.
 
Gettysburg will host a tri-match at Hanover Country Club next Friday, Sept. 14, at 1:30 p.m.
