WESTMINSTER, Md.—No. 15 Swarthmore College Men's Basketball rolled past the McDaniel College Green Terror 78-53 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
Swarthmore shot an even 50 percent overall in the contest, going 31-for-62. The Garnet established a 54-23 lead in the first half, shooting 60.6 percent before the break, and then coasted to victory, leading by as many as 37 points in the second half.
Defensively, Swarthmore contained McDaniel, keeping them a 36.7 percent overall mark shooting and an 11.1 percent mark from 3-point range.
Cam Wiley returned to the starting lineup and scored a game-high 16 points in just 23 minutes of action. He went 5-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from long range, and dealt out four assists. McDaniel, by contrast, only had four assists total as a team.
Zac O'Dell ended with a double-double for Swarthmore, netting 12 points while securing 12 rebounds. O'Dell distributed three assists from the post.
Ryan Ingram started and added 11 points, four assists and three rebounds. Freshman Justin Tucker added 11 points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.
Eleven different Garnet players tallied up points on Saturday.
Swarthmore blew the game open at the end of the second half. In the final seven minutes of the first half, Swarthmore out-scored the hosts 24-2. The Garnet kept the Green Terror from scoring at all in the final five minutes of the half.
The Garnet (13-2, 6-2 Centennial), now winners of their last nine games, return to action on Wednesday night at home against Muhlenberg.
