LANCASTER, Pa. - The McDaniel women's indoor track and field team competed at the Mini Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on January 27th. The women secured seven personal records and eleven conference qualifying performances.
Senior Bailey Mullen made her debut in the 5000m with placing second in 19:11.77. Mullen's time ranks her sixth in program history. Junior Katie Morgan added to the top three finishes with a time of 1:02.72 in the 400 to place third while also leading off the fourth-place 4x400m relay in 4:28.12 with Yeseniah Ortiz, Shannon Short, and Megan O'Neill. Junior Angel Bidgell made a season debut in long jump for a personal record mark of 4.59m to place 7th. Bidgell also placed 13th in the 60m with a 8.53, 15th in 200m with a 29.41, and debuted in 60m hurdles in 11.26 for 17th. Freshman Taylor Pinthiere followed up in the long jump with 4.48 to place eighth and the 60m in 8.99 for 26th.
The mile was led by freshman Piper Nagaraj with her eighth place finish in a 5:52.52. She was quickly followed up by junior Ashley Siebenhaar in ninth with a 5:52.60. Freshman Anna Kale finished in 6:35.36 for 31st and freshman Arianna Lowengrub was soon after for 6:47.69 to take 33rd. All four times were personal records.
Freshman Anna Rando showed out for the 400 with her 1:04.46 to secure seventh. She also competed in the 60m hurdles to finish in 10.90 for 11th. Senior Renee Dupre quickly followed for 13th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 11.09. Dupre also competed in the 800m for a 22nd place finish in 3:03.43 alongside O'Neill who placed 9th with a 2:35.13.
Junior Yeseniah Ortiz adds to the top-10 finishes for the day with 10th in the 400 in 1:06.21. Sophomore Shannon Short rounds out the running events with a debut 600 in 1:52.36 to take 13th. This performance adds her to fourth in program history in the event. Short also competed in the 300 with a time of 48.58 to finish in 19th.
Freshman Sofia DelRosso-Freeman improved on her ninth rank program history mark in pole vault with a personal record 2.13m to place 11th. Freshman Elyssa Greene finished out the jumps with an 11th place triple jump in 8.63m and 25th place long jump in 3.73m.
The throws were led by freshman Ameerah Johnson in the shot put with a throw of 9.79m for 20th. Dupre also competed in shot put to score a personal record mark of 7.84m to place 34th. Junior Mikayla Smith made a statement in the weight throw with a personal record mark of 8.42 for 32nd place to improve on her fourth rank mark in program history. Smith also competed in shot put to throw a mark of 5.52m for 44th place.
The Green Terror will be back on the track on February 5th for the Richard Drake Invitational at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
