CARLISLE, Pa. – Senior
Elizabeth Hilfrank (Norfolk, Mass./King Philip Regional) came in third among 58 runners, leading the Gettysburg College women's cross country team at the Little Three Meet, hosted by Dickinson College on Friday.
The Bullets defeated Franklin & Marshall 17-44 but lost 43-18 to 24th-ranked Dickinson, which won its 24th consecutive Little Three title. Dickinson also defeated F&M 15-50.
Hilfrank scaled the 5,000-meter course in 18:11. Her third-place finish marked her career-best finish at the meet after finishing fifth last season.
Junior
Sarah Rinehart (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) also broke the top-10 with her seventh-place showing in 18:43.
Rounding out the team scoring were freshman
Michelle O'Malley (Locust, N.J./Red Bank Catholic), who came in 12th in 19:13, junior
Paige Wesolowski (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket Regional), who placed 22nd in 19:55, and junior
Madison Fox (Akron, Pa./Ephrata), who was 26th in 20:05.
Finishing as displacers were sophomore
Colleen Campbell (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy), who placed 32nd in 20:31, and junior
Margot Hoagland (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North), who took 34th in 20:46.
Dickinson's Sarah House (18:03) and Tessa Cassidy (18:08) placed first and second, respectively.
Gettysburg continues its season next Saturday, when it competes at the Kutztown University DII/DIII Challenge.
