Liza Barr (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) scored sixth points, including the 100th of her career, and junior
Maria Nemeth (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and sophomore
Kerry McKeever (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) each tallied hat tricks as No. 1 Gettysburg College ran past Stevenson University 17-3 in a non-conference women's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon.
Gettysburg (2-0) ran off 12 of the first 13 goals to blow past Stevenson (0-2). The Bullets held sizeable advantages in shots (32-17) and draw controls (16-6).
After putting up a career-high nine points in the season opener against Messiah College on Thursday, Barr was at it again with four goals and two assists Saturday. She tallied the 100th career point on a goal with 10:38 left in the first half. The junior also picked up three ground balls.
Nemeth matched her personal high with three goals and McKeever scored at least three goals for the second game in a row, while also corralling six draw controls. Senior
Steph Colson (Westminster, Md./Manchester Valley) filled her stat line with one goal, five assists, three ground balls, a draw control, and two caused turnovers. Senior
Lauren Cole (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) tossed in a pair of goals.

Bailey Pilder (Rowayton, Conn./New Canaan) allowed just two goals and made seven saves in the first 45:35. Junior
Casey Cole (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) finished out the game by allowing two goals and making two stops.
The Bullets dominated possession of the ball in the early going by winning eight of the first nine draw controls in the game. Junior
Courtney Patterson (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central) racked up four of her six draw controls during the stretch and Gettysburg jumped out to a 9-0 lead on a feed by Barr to sophomore
Bri Stokes (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury) with 9:18 to play.
A goal by Cole to open the second half put the advantage into double-figures where it would remain for the rest of the game. Gettysburg ended the day with the first collegiate goals by freshmen
Nora Janzer (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) and
Cecily Stabler (Summit, N.J./Summit).
Gettysburg returns home for its next game against Denison University next Sunday, March 3, at 1 p.m.
