SWARTHMORE, Pa.—A run of eight consecutive goals for Swarthmore stretching between the first, second and third quarters propelled Swarthmore to an 11-5 home victory over the Delaware Valley University Aggies on Saturday.
Cam Marsh and Austin Chang both recorded hat tricks for Swarthmore. Jake Ross added two goals, and Dylan Rittenhouse, Jimmy Eberle and Mason Evarts each had one. Chang tallied a pair of assists, as did Nathaniel Johns, and Rittenhouse, Marsh, Zander Levitz and Bryan Murray each had an assist too.
Ryan Izquierdo won 9-of-16 Swarthmore faceoffs.
Chris Coyle led Delaware Valley with two goals.
John Calia got the win in goal for Swarthmore, recording four saves in 45 minutes. Freshman Frankie Dillon got his first minutes and recorded three saves.
Delaware Valley drew first blood, scoring four minutes into the game. Swarthmore out-scored the visitors 3-2 in the first quarter. Swarthmore scored three unanswered goals in the second quarter and four unanswered in the third. Del Val netted an even strength goal with 10 minutes left in the fourth and then added a pair of man-up goals. Swarthmore served three non-releasable three-minute penalties in the fourth quarter and only allowed two goals in those opportunities.
The Garnet stay local over spring break and will host Plattsburgh State on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
