A day after hosting five other Division III teams at the Muhlenberg Invitational, the Muhlenberg track and field teams sent some of their runners to compete in meets hosted by Division I schools.
Three Mules qualified to compete in the Penn State National Open, and nine other runners made the shorter trip to Lehigh for the Covert Classic.
At Penn State, junior
Corey Mullins (pictured above left) finished 10th out of 20 runners with a time of 4:22.59. He improved his personal best by more than two seconds and moved up from eighth to seventh on the Mules' all-time performance list. Mullins was the only Division III runner in the field.
Seniors
Jamie Pacilio (13th in the 3,000 meters) and
Anthony Calantoni (21st in the 800) were also the only non-Division I runners in their races. All three Muhlenberg runners at Penn State posted ECAC-qualifying times.
At Lehigh, senior
Emily Davidson (pictured above right) and sophomore
Santina Zouras came in fifth and ninth, respectively, in the mile, with Davidson qualifying for ECACs. Sophomore
Jason Richwall placed seventh in the men's mile.
