LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior
Will Hopkins (Raleigh, N.C./Needham B. Broughton) broke a 28-year-old school record in the 500-meter run, leading the Gettysburg College men's track and field team at the Little Dip Invitational, hosted by Franklin & Marshall College Friday evening.
No team scoring was kept at the meet, which featured Division I and II.

Meet Highlights
- In his first-ever 500-meter run, Hopkins broke the program record by clocking 1:10.96 to place third. Derek Van Benthuysen, who set it in 1994, held the record with a 1:11.50 time. The senior also notched another program top-10 performance in the 300-meter dash with a 39.83 time to rank sixth all-time.
- After finishing fifth last week, Zemser registered runner-up in the pole vault, clearing 13-05.25.
- In his first collegiate 60-meter dash, Aidan Kiernan (Pelham Manor, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) finished fourth in 7.26 seconds and now rank sixth all-time in program history.
- In the high jump, freshmen Joe Siino (Mountains Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) tied for fifth (5-08.75).
- After clocking 9.20 in the prelims, junior Eric Liedtka (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) went on to place eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.36). He also finished 10th in the 300-meter dash with a 39.05 time to now rank fourth all-time in program history.
- Junior Caden Giordano (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) leaped 20-00.25 in the long jump to claim seventh and placed ninth in the triple jump with a personal-record of 40-02.00.
- In the mile, junior Connor Elliott (Media, Pa./Salesianum) set a PR with a 4:36.28 time to claim ninth among 49 runners.
- Senior Matt Weller (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.70.

Gettysburg heads to the Frank Colden Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College, next Saturday, Feb. 5. Opening events begin at 10 a.m.
