READING, Pa.—No. 12 Swarthmore College Women's Soccer rallied for three second-half goals to win Sunday's road game at PSU-Berks 3-2. For Swarthmore (5-0-1), Sunday's game was its second in as many days.
Marin McCoy scored the game-winner with just 46 seconds left in regulation and also contributed an assist on a Lizzie King goal. Sydney Covitz had the other goal for the Garnet.
The Garnet fell behind in the 33rd minute but recovered with a goal from Covitz in the 62nd minute. In the 66th minute, King followed up a missed shot from McCoy and finished the rebound to give Swarthmore the 2-1 advantage.
However, PSU-Berks cleaned up a scrum off a corner to equalize the game in the 83rd minute.
Swarthmore, looking to avoid double overtime for the second day in a row, fired off three shots in the final four minutes and change.
Amy Harris connected with McCoy who struck a line drive over the goalkeeper's head for the game-winner with just 46 seconds left in regulation.
Freshman Chantal Reyes played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves.
Swarthmore resumes Centennial Conference play on Thursday at home against Ursinus.
