The Muhlenberg men's golf team tied for eighth place at its first tournament of the spring, the two-day McDaniel Spring Invitational.
The Mules tied for the sixth-lowest score on the second day, when temperatures were about 25 degrees cooler than they were for the first round.Â
Sophomore
Ian Simon was one of 16 golfers in the field of 92 to break 80 in both rounds, carding a 79 on both days. He was under par on four holes in the first round, including back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes. Simon
(pictured above) was one of only two competitors to birdie the par-5, 540-yard 18th hole on both days. Â
Sophomore
Ben Lieberman and senior
John Froberg both birdied the 18th in the second round, with Liberman finishing a stroke behind Simon.Â
