SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse scored four unanswered goals to close out the fourth quarter and hold on for an 11-7 road win at Drew University on Saturday.
Both teams had streaky scoring runs in the contest. After Swarthmore went up 1-0, Drew responded with five straight goals. Swarthmore then answered with six consecutive tallies. Drew posted back-to-back goals to open the fourth quarter and tie the game at 7-7, but the Garnet finished the game strongly and put plenty of distance between them and the Rangers.
Cam Marsh, Jake Ross, Austin Chang and Zander Levitz all posted two goals apiece, and Ross and Levitz also assisted two goals. Nathaniel Johns, Dylan Rittenhouse and Mason Evarts each added a goal as well.
Swarthmore FOGO Ryan Izquierdo won 14-of-22 faceoffs and scooped up nine ground balls.
The Garnet fired off 40 shots at Drew and put 27 of them on goal. Drew only took 16 shots on goal and 22 in total. John Calia registered nine saves in goal in the win for Swarthmore.
Swarthmore will return home on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game with Arcadia University.
