• The Short Story: After an almost two-hour weather delay, the sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins women's soccer team shutout visiting Penn St. Berks, 1-0 on Homewood Field on Wednesday night.

How it Happened
Emily Maheras gave JHU a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick goal at 15:20 after being taken down in the box. The goals is her second on the season.
Rachel Jackson had a great scoring chance at the 30:19 mark of the half, but her shot rang off the post to keep the JHU lead at one.
• The Nittany Lions had an opportunity to tie the game just 19 seconds later as Caitlin Golden took a point-blank shot that Caitlin Hendricks was just able to extend her hands for and deflect away. The ball then hit the post, but the JHU defense was able to get the ball and keep Hopkins in the lead.
• Penn St. Berks had another chance to tie the game in the second half as Karina Raykova came down the field for the shot, however, Hendricks came out of the cage and smothered the ball to keep the score 1-0 Hopkins.
Michelle Santangelo had an amazing opportunity to put Hopkins up two in the 81st minute, but her first shot was saved by Penn St. Berks keeper Bristol Pizzuti, and after gathering the rebound, Santangelo put the second shot over the net.
• Neither team was to score and Hopkins completed the 1-0 victory.

What it Means
• This was the first meeting between the two teams.
• The Blue Jays have now won their last six matches.
• This is the fifth shutout on the year for Hopkins.
