The Muhlenberg baseball team wrapped up its regular season by hosting DeSales in a matchup of Lehigh Valley schools who are headed to their conference playoffs.
After playing three Centennial Conference games in the previous two days to clinch the third seed in the upcoming playoffs, the Mules rested most of their regular players in a 22-7 loss.
Of the nine pitchers who appeared for Muhlenberg (19-18), four made their first appearance of the season. Senior
Jake Picker (pictured above) made his first career start and tossed two shutout innings before running into trouble in the third.

Austin Disher and
Sam Kasten also pitched for the last time on the Cedarcreek Field mound.
The Mules jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings. Senior
Eric Reitmeyer led off with a double, the first of his two hits, and scored on a single by sophomore
Jack Avallone in the first. An RBI single by junior
Kenny Freid capped a three-run second.
The Bulldogs (26-13), the top seed in the MAC Freedom playoffs, scored five runs in each of the next two innings and widened their lead as the game progressed.
Senior
Taylor Vazquez went 2-for-5 and drove in two runners - including his brother, senior
Troy Vazquez - on a seventh-inning single. The Vazquez brothers also teamed up for a 5-4-3 double play in the third.
Junior
Seth Wasserman recorded his first career multiple-hit game, driving in the final run with a double in the ninth.
