The Muhlenberg field hockey team played 10th-ranked Johns Hopkins even for the first half before falling 4-1.
The Mules and Blue Jays (10-2, 5-0) were tied 1-1 at the half with Mules' goal in the 27th minute from junior
Sophie Beeler on a penalty corner. Freshman
Alexandra Gann had the assist when the ball was inserted from Beeler to Gann, back to Beeler, who tipped the ball in for her first career goal.
Senior
Jordan Segrave (pictured above) had a season-high of 14 saves on the day and was aided by Beeler with her 14th defensive save of her career. With that defensive save, Beeler is now tied for fifth for most defensive saves in the program records.
Beeler is also the first Muhlenberg player with a goal and a defensive save in the same game since Heather Porrini vs. Dickinson in 2011.
The Mules (7-5, 2-4) had two other penalty corners in the game, both coming back to back in the third quarter, but they were unable to capitalize.
