WASHINGTON, D.C. - The McDaniel men's outdoor track team traveled to Gallaudet University for the Bison Classic. The men got one new school record along with 11 new Centennial Conference Championship qualifiers.
Senior Collin Wainwright set a new program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.49 meters. He would also place fifth in the event. Junior Jake Conklin would place fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 37.98 meters. He would also place sixth in discus with a throw of 36.26 meters and eighth in shot put with a throw of 11.41 meters.
Junior Nick Raumann placed second in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:28.98. This time qualified him for the Centennial Conference Championships. Senior Wyatt Farace finished third in the 1500 meter running a time of 4:23.46. The 4x400 team of Senior Nick Razze, Senior Anthony Razze, Junior Tyler Richardson, and Sophomore Jeremiah Maxwell placed third running a time of 3:28.46
Richardson placed fourth in the 800 meter running a time of 2:00.35. Junior Braden Fink ran a time of 2:02.63 to finish seventh. Freshman Jack Sears followed in eighth running 2:02.95. All three runners qualified for the Conference Championship.
Junior Tyren Proctor ran a time of 59.97 in the 400 meter hurdles to finish fourth. Anthony Razze followed in fifth running 1:00.14. Freshman Noah DeJesus placed eighth running 1:14.62. Proctor and Razze both qualified for the Conference Championship. Junior Kyle Hubbard placed fifth in the 110 hurdles running a time of 16.45. Proctor followed running 16.62 placing 6th.
Sophomore Alex Brown placed fifth in high jump with a jump of 1.73 meters. Brown would also finish sixth in the long jump with a jump of 5.96 meters. Freshman Christian Taylor placed seventh with a jump of 5.84 meters. Followed by Freshman Christian Homer who jumped 5.75 meters for eighth. Senior Jayson Jones would jump 5.36 meters to place 11th. Homer would place seventh in triple jump with a jump of 12.16 meters. He was followed by Jones and Taylor who placed eighth and ninth. Taylor qualified for the Conference Championship with his jump of 11.62 meters.
Sophomore Oral-Anthony Coleman placed eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.15. Coleman would also run 11.06 in the prelims. Brown ran 11.57 placing 16th. Senior Malachi Thompson placed 21st running 11.74. Junior Kyle Hubbard placed 24th running 12.01. Taylor ran 12.17 placing 27th. Hubbard and Taylor both qualified for the Conference Championship.
Coleman placed 10th in the 200 running a time of 22.66. Maxwell ran a time of 23.00 to place 14th. Nick Razze placed 19th running 23.26. Brown placed 21st running 23.68. Brown's time qualified him for the Conference Championship. In the 400 Nick Razze placed 12th running 52.08. Freshman Jack Reiser ran 53.23 coming in 16th. Reiser's mark qualified him for the Conference Championship.
The 4x100 team of Hubbard, Freshman Christian Homer, Thompson, and Brown placed sixth with a time of 45.48.
The men will compete next at the Messiah Invitational hosted by Messiah. The meet will take place Saturday April 15th.
