The Muhlenberg wrestling team closed out the calendar year by sending eight wrestlers to the Citrus Open in Fort Lauderdale, with five winning multiple matches.

Freshman Angelo Mahaffey was the Mules' top placewinner, coming in sixth at 157. He won four straight bouts in the consolation bracket after dropping his opening contest in a close 6-4 decision. Mahaffey faced the same opponent in his fifth-place bout, taking him to overtime before falling, 4-2. One of Mahaffey's wins came on a pin in just 45 seconds.

Junior Austin Sherman placed in a tournament for the third time this season, coming in eighth at 141. All three of his wins came by major decision, moving him into a tie for eighth place on the program's all-time list with 12 career majors.

Junior Dylan Schwartz went 2-2 at 165 to reach the career milestone of 50 wins.

Two heavyweights who were members of the Centennial Conference co-champion Muhlenberg football team did well in their season debuts. Sophomore Sam Rothstein (pictured above) won three bouts, two by pin and one by decision, and freshman Ramiro Osuna recorded his first two career wins, one by fall in the first period.
