SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Ursinus Women's Cross Country team opened the 2022 season with a solid performance at the Shippensburg Piper Alumni/XC Challenge on Friday night.
The Bears finished third of the seven teams in the field with 83 points that included four Division II teams and three Division III teams.
Senior
Rachel Conhoff led the Bears on the 4K course with a sixth-place finish behind a time of 15:40.07. Her classmate,
Holly Chambers, finished just behind in 17th overall with her time of 16:18.2
Senior
Jenna Lozzi placed third among the Bears and 27th overall with her time of 16:52.9 and was followed by a pair of Ursinus runners separated by just .5 of each other. Sophomore
Ryann Wauthier came in 31st with her time of 16:56.2 while first-year
Mia Sideris finished right with her in 32nd at 16:56.7. for her collegiate debut.
A pair of sophomores followed in
Meghan Carroll placing 35th (16:57.9) and
Brooke Adams in 38th on her time of 17:11.5.
Sophomore
Maggie Stalter (17:36.1) and first-year
Kirra Norling (17:48.6) finished back-to-back in 49th and 50th, respectively
First-year Corrine Martello (18:40.1) along with sophomores
Candace Hudson (19:05.3) and
Erica Locke (19:29.4) rounded out the Bears runners in the event.
Ursinus returns to action next Saturday at the Dutchmen Invitational, hosted by Lebanon Valley College at Union Canal Tunnel Park with an 11:00 a.m. start.
