Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men’s Lacrosse Tops Susquehanna

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team held Susquehanna to a single goal in each of the first three quarters of a 9-6 win.

After falling behind 2-1 with 11:12 left in the second quarter, the Mules (3-0) held the River Hawks (2-2) to just a single goal over the next 28:49. In that span, Muhlenberg scored six goals, including two straight from sophomore Ethan Grossman to take the lead for good.

The defense came up big for the Mules, causing seven of Susquehanna's 17 turnovers. Freshman Kyle Lando and sophomore Matt Hager had two caused turnovers each. Lando also collected a season-best six ground balls, matching a game-high.

As a unit the defense allowed season-lows in both shots (26) and shots on goal (13). Junior Garrett Pope played strong between the pipes with seven saves, a ground ball and a caused turnover.

Grossman netted the Mules' first three goals and added an assist for four total points. The attackman has registered at least four points in all three games this season.

With a goal each, freshman James Dalimonte and junior Scott Fayan have scored at least once in each of the Mules' first three games.  In addition, sophomore Brandon Moyer netted a pair of goals for his second-straight multi-goal performance.

Muhlenberg's second-straight win over the River Hawks is their fifth since the teams began playing every year in 2012. The win also gives the Mules a 3-0 start to the season for the second year in a row.
