The Muhlenberg wrestling team won three of four matches at the North/South Duals, rebounding from an opening loss to SUNY Cortland with wins against Rhode Island College, Camden County College and Elizabethtown.

Junior Jake Gordon led the Mules with a 3-1 record, including a pair of pins, at 174, while freshman Nick Daza, junior Will Lamb, sophomore Gennaro Cerminara each went 2-1. Three other Muhlenberg wrestlers - Connor McGee, Austin Sherman and Steven Rice - also picked up a pair of wins.

Rice notched one of only two Muhlenberg wins against Cortland, but it was an impressive one: He posted a 6-2 decision at 184 against an opponent who is receiving honorable mention in the D3wrestle.com rankings at 197.

The Mules trailed Rhode Island College 13-3 after four bouts before staging a comeback for a 21-20 win. A major decision by Lamb at 157 and a 12-10 decision by Daza at 165 made it 13-10, and Gordon gave Muhlenberg a 16-13 lead with a pin. With the match tied 16-16, Cerminara built a 17-0 lead midway through the second period for a technical fall that put the Mules up 21-16. Freshman heavyweight Scott Schaeffer preserved the win by not getting pinned in the final bout.

A major decision at 133 by Sherman (pictured above), sandwiched in between a decision by McGee and a pin by freshman Quentin Bernhard, staked Muhlenberg to an early 13-0 lead vs. Camden. Daza and Schaeffer later added pins in the 28-15 win.

Muhlenberg came back again in the Elizabethtown match, turning a 12-9 deficit into a 26-24 win by winning three straight bouts with bonus points. Lamb picked up a forfeit win before Gordon notched his second pin of the day and Rice registered a technical fall.
