ARLINGTON, Va. – Junior Lucas Weissman (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) and sophomore Matt Stine (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) each scored a first-half goal to power the Gettysburg College men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Marymount University in a non-conference tilt Wednesday evening.
 
The former high school teammates struck in the third and 16th minutes, respectively, as the Bullets (4-1-1) remained undefeated over their last five outings.
 
Senior Henry Smith (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) assisted on both goals for Gettysburg, which outshot the Saints 15-9.
 
Junior Max Karen (Huntington, N.Y./Elwood-John Glenn) and senior Peter Como (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) shared the shutout for the Bullets, who have now blanked three opponents this season, including their last two. Each keeper made a pair of saves, with Karen starting and playing the opening half before giving way to Como for the final 45 minutes.
 
John Valcicak turned aside five shots for Marymount (2-4-2).
 
Weissman provided the Bullets with all of the offense they would need when he headed home a direct kick from Smith for his second goal of the year.
 
Junior Patrick Santini (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) sparked Gettysburg's second goal when he delivered a pass from the right side to Smith, who one-touched the ball to Stine. The sophomore capped the play with his first goal of the season and the second of his career.
 
The Bullets outshot the Saints 8-5 in the first half, when Valcicak made three saves.
 
Gettysburg held a 7-4 shot advantage in the second stanza, but managed just two shots on goal.
 
The game featured a combined 29 fouls, with 22 whistled against Marymount.
 
The Bullets pick up their schedule on Saturday, when they host Muhlenberg College in a Centennial Conference match starting at 7 p.m.
