ALLENTOWN, Pa. (January 28, 2017) – Stevens Institute of Technology men's wrestling senior
Rob Murray got the Ducks off to winning starts twice Saturday as the No. 6 Ducks topped Muhlenberg and Ursinus in a Centennial Conference quad.
The wins pushed Stevens' dual record to 19-0, and extended its historic win streak to 33. The victories were also the ninth straight against Centennial Conference opponents.
No. 6 Stevens 36 Muhlenberg 13
Murray started the winning with a pin in just under two minutes at 125, before a forfeit win at 133 and a major for freshman
Dylan Van Sickell at 141 made it 16-0. Another forfeit at 149 put the Ducks in the driver's seat, followed by a 17-2 technical fall win for sophomore No. 7
Thomas Poklikuha with time expiring in the second period at 157.
Muhlenberg bounced back with a decision win at 165 and scored points at 184 and 197, but an 11-6 decision win for junior
Josh Smith at 174 and another Mules forfeit at 285 gave the Ducks the comfortable victory.
Poklikuha's win at 157 was his team-leading 35th of the season, while Van Sickell pushed his season total to 31.
