#10 men's tennis sweeps singles action en route to,7-1 win over #31 Swarthmore

The Brandeis University men's tennis team ranked #10 swept singles action to defeat #31 Swarthmore College, 7-1 at home today. With the win the Judges improve to 9-2, while the Garnet fall to 5-8.

In doubles action, the Judges one loss came at No. 1 as the duo of sophomore Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) and junior David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) were defeated 4-8. However, the Judges would respond with back to back wins, the first claimed at No. 3 as rookie Colt Tegtmeier (Madison, Wisc. / James Madison Memorial) and senior Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y. / Great Neck South) won, 8-4. The second win came at No. 2 as rookie duo of Jeffrey Chen (Northfield, Ill. / New Trier) and rookie Adam Tzeng (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle) won by a score of 8-3.

The Judges dominated in singles action, as junior captain, Aizenberg started things out at No. 1 defeating his opponent in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 5 it was more of the same as sophomore Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I. / Moses Brown School) won by a score of 6-2, 6-2. The Judges kept it rolling at No. 3 and No. 2 as rookie Tzeng won by a score of 6-2, 7-6, while sophomore Coramutla won by a score of 6-0, 6-4. At No. 4 it was rookie Chen who closed it out with a victory of 6-4, 6-1. The final match was left unfinished as sophomore Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) led 7-6, 2-1.

The Judges are back in action on Wednesday against Babson at home, with a 3:00 p.m. start time.
