COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Junior
Duncan Proxmire (McLean, Va./Langley) and sophomore
Sam Nonemaker (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) combined for seven victories and Gettysburg College won the first eight events on the way to a 158-104 victory over Ursinus College in a Centennial Conference dual meet Saturday afternoon.

Meet Highlights
- The meet opened with the foursome of Cox, Yancey, Edelson, and Nonemaker breaking the pool's 400 medley relay record. The quartet dominated the race from start-to-finish and won by over four seconds with a mark of 3:29.51.
- Nonemaker was just getting warmed up after swimming the anchor leg of the relay, tacking on three more individual wins. He beat out last year's conference bronze medalist Ryan Carkhuff in the 50 free with at time of 21.28 and then he out-dueled Dan Mueser for a win in the 100 free (47.40). He gave up ground to Mikey Prior in the backstroke segment of the 200 IM, but the Gettysburg sophomore race away in the breaststroke and free legs to win by over two seconds with a time of 1:59.14.
- Proxmire swept the 500 and 1,000 for the second time this year and he added a win in the 200 free. He produced an 11-second win in the 1,000 and turned right back around and touched the wall first in the 200 free (1:44.10). After a longer rest, Proxmire broke away from Ursinus' best distance swimmer Jake Menzer early in the 500 and produced a five-second win at 4:43.92.
- Yancey, Cox, and Edelson all added individual wins. Yancey cruised to a victory in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.09, while Cox claimed the 100 back in 52.63. Edelson dusted the field for a three-second win in the 200 fly (1:59.87).
Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg won its fourth consecutive meeting with Ursinus and improved to 34-1 overall in the all-time series.
