The Muhlenberg wrestling team returned to action after final exams by winning three of four at the Lycoming Duals.

The Mules (10-2) defeated Pitt-Bradford, King's and Penn College to reach double digits in wins for the ninth time in program history, the second time in the last 16 years.

Senior Jimmy Fratantoni recorded a pair of technical falls at 184 to tie the school record of six in a season. Already the career record-holder in techs, now with 14, Fratantoni matched a mark achieved three times previously, most recently 22 years ago, to run his season record to 14-2.

Freshman Mathew Castimore (141) and junior Mike Cannon (174) each won three contested bouts. Castimore, who came in with three wins, all by pin, on the season, prevailed in two bouts that went the distance and one that went past the distance. He took down his Penn College opponent in overtime for a sudden victory in his final bout of the day.

Cannon (pictured above) recorded his first career technical fall and his second and third career pins, scoring 17 team points.

Senior Gennaro Cerminara (197 vs. Pitt-Bradford) and junior Dylan Schwartz (165 vs. Penn College) also notched technical falls.

Two Mules suffered close losses against tough competition vs. Lycoming. Freshman Angelo Mahaffey battled his opponent, who is ranked 10th at 149 by D3wrestle.com, to a 1-1 standstill before getting taken down in overtime. Schwartz dropped a 3-2 decision to a wrestler who is receiving honorable mention in the rankings.
