Senior
Stephi Rydgren scored two goals in a span of 13:39 to give the Muhlenberg field hockey team a come-from-behind 3-2 win at Washington College in its regular-season finale.
The Mules (9-7, 8-2) extended their winning streak to five games and ended with their second-best Centennial Conference record ever. They tied Ursinus for third place to earn a home playoff game against Dickinson, which secured the final spot in the playoff field with a 2-1 win against Gettysburg.
Despite a 14-2 advantage in shots, Muhlenberg went into halftime down 2-1. Rydgren
(pictured above) scored the equalizer off a rebound with 23:06 remaining and netted the winner off a long pass from freshman
Megan Webber with fewer than 10 minutes remaining.
It was the second career two-goal game for Rydgren, who reached the milestones of 20 career goals and 50 career points with her winning goal.
The game marked the first time the Mules came back from a halftime deficit to win since a 2015 game against Stockton. All nine of Muhlenberg's wins this season are by one goal.
Sophomore
Rachel Richards scored the Mules' first-half goal, putting in a rebound of a shot by Webber that was deflected off the post. Junior
Jordan Segrave made her lone save of the game with 2:10 remaining to preserve the win.
