Senior
Robert Borkow shot a 76 to finish seventh and lead the Muhlenberg men's golf team to a fourth-place showing at the Swarthmore/Neumann Invitational, its first tournament of the 2017-18 season.
The finish was a career best for Borkow, who tied for eighth at the Messiah Spring Classic as a freshman for his only other time in the top 10. BorkowÂ
(pictured above) birdied the longest hole on the Rock Manor Golf Club course, the 563-yard 10th, en route to his 76. He just missed his career low of 75, set last fall at the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational.
All seven Mule golfers who competed shot at least one birdie. Junior
Ben Lieberman shot a birdie on the par-4 sixth hole and came in with a 78. Freshman
Dan Kurson, making his debut with the Mules, birdied the 500-yard 18th hole and finished at 80.
Senior
Daniel Eidman birdied the par-4 eighth, and sophomore
Sam Gersten finished with two birdies on the front nine - a 4 on the 562-yard fourth and a 2 on the 178-yard ninth.
Freshmen
Matt Polverino and
Spencer Weiner birdied the par-3 third and the par-5 18th, respectively.Â
