ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's indoor track and field team opened the outdoor season by placing five athletes in the top three at the Elizabethtown Opener on Saturday at Elizabethtown College.
Freshman
Holly Ruvo (North Caldwell, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic Academy) grabbed a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking 13.69. Rounding out the top three finishers on the day were freshman
Anna Pienkos (North Haven, Conn./Sacred Heart Academy), who claimed second in the high jump (4-7), freshman
Caitlin Yap (Wayne, N.J./Morris Catholic) registered second in the pole vault (8-6 ¼), junior
Leah Hill (Media, Pa./Penncrest) placed third in the 400-meter dash (1:08.29), and freshman
Katherine Mangione (Doylestown, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) took third in the javelin (124-3).
Yap's mark is tied for ninth in the outdoor top-10 list at Gettysburg, while Mangione's throw of 124-3 in the javelin puts her sixth in program history.
Sophomore
Alexa Kerprich (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) also competed in the 400-meter dash, taking fifth in the event (1:08.69). Placing fifth in the mile run was freshman
Ashlyn Booher (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boling Springs), who clocked a time of 5:52.66. Senior
Madison Fox (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) tallied a fifth-place showing in the 10,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 47:14.39.

Colleen Campbell (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy), Booher, and Hill finished fourth with a time of 4:51.41.
On the field, freshman
Nicole Mangaroo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Polytech Prep Country Day) leaped into fourth-place in the high jump (4-3 ¼), while sophomore
Diana Bianco Riley (Seekonk, Mass./St. Mary Academy Bay View) set a new personal record (PR) in the hammer throw, tossing 103-5, which keeps her ranked eighth all-time at Gettysburg.
Gettysburg hosts the Little Three Meet next Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m.
