• The Short Story: The third-ranked Johns Hopkins women's track & field team won the NYC Division III Invitational as the Blue Jays put together two sub-five-minute mile runs and many other impressive performances during the meet on Friday as Hopkins 124 points outscored second-place Messiah (68 pts.) and third-place Wheaton (50 pts.) combined.

Johns Hopkins Winners:
•The distance medley team of
Erin Brush,
Cassandra Factora,
Anna Stouffer, and
Ariel Keklak won the event with a time of 12:13.00. Brush got the team an early lead with a 3:39.98 1,200m split and Factora and Stouffer held onto the lead for Keklak, who anchored the team with a new-career best mile time of 4:58.87, which is 12 seconds faster than her previous best time.

Therese Olshanski won the mile run with a time of 4:58.10, breaking the meet record for the event.
Other Meet Highlights:

Julia Chang notched a fifth-place finish in the 5K with a time of 18:23.72, knocking over 30 seconds off her two previous 5k races of the season, while
Allison Rosen finished in seventh with a time of 18:38.07.

Alexandra Damron earned a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 59.92 while
Ashley Tyburski finished in fourth with a time of 1:01.02.
Hailey Sheppell finished in sixth with a time of 1:01.87.
• In the shot put, freshman
Kelsey Neff registered a fifth-place finish with a throw of 11.06m.
• In the 60-meter hurdles,
Annie Gutierrez recorded a fifth-place finish as she crossed the finish line in a time of 9.79. She also recorded a fifth-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.04.
• Following Olshanski in the mile was
Caelyn Reilly who finished just behind her teammate with a time of 4:58.91, also breaking the meet record and posting her first sub-five-minute time.
Shaina Palmer finished eighth with a time of 5:15.75 while
Arielle Summitt crossed the line in ninth with a mark of 5:16.52.
• Keklak also notched a third-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.70 while
Sophia Cortazzo also earned a third-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 3.34m.
• Freshman
Alex Ross, fresh off a sub-18-minute performance in the 5k last week at George Mason, led for almost the entirety of the 3k event and eventually took second in the race with a time of 10:27.

Chinaza Nwankpa had a great day on the track as she finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.70.
• The Blue Jays also had a great showing in the 4x400 relay as the team of
Hannah Miller, Olshanski, Sheppell and Damron finished second with a time of 4:06.11 while the team of
Jackie Rieger, Summitt
, Marisa Sailus, and Brush finished right behind them with a mark of 4:06.68.

•"This was such a great day for us as we move into the peak of our indoor season. Having three ladies go sub-five in the mile was a great way to start, but the energy just continued throughout the day across all events. We are in a good spot preparing for our conference championships, and look forward to some big meets next weekend."
