LANCASTER, Pa. – Freshman
Ezekiel Omosanya (Lagos, Nigeria/Northfield Mount Hermon [Mass.]) had a hand in three victories to lead the Gettysburg College men's track and field team at its first outdoor meet of the season on Saturday at the Little Three Meet.
The Bullets, competing in their first outdoor meet of the season, finished with 112 points, placing behind both Dickinson (150.5) and Franklin & Marshall (146) in a meet that was first held in 1947.
The Little Three women's meet was also held for the 40th time, with the Bullets capturing the title, edging out Dickinson by three points.
Omosanya won both the 100-meter dash (11.39) and the 200-meter dash (23.39), and he also ran a leg of the victorious 4x100-meter relay team (44.36). He was joined on the relay by sophomore
Joey Artemiou (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville), senior David Trometta (Middlefield, Conn./Coginchaug Regional), and senior
Collin Bergey (Zionsville, Pa./Southern Lehigh).
Bergey also raced to an individual victory, clocking a time of 51.71 in the 400-meter dash. He led a 1-2 Gettysburg finish in the event, with sophomore
Thad Cwiklinski (Glen Rock, Pa./York Catholic) taking second in 52.08.
Five others also captured runner-up honors: Trombetta in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.79), senior Nate Wojick (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) in the 800-meter run (1:57.30), sophomore
Alex Petrecca (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) in the 1,500-meter run (4:11.89), junior
Willie Nolan (Westport, Conn./Staples) in the pole vault (13-5 1/4), and sophomore
Joe Amadio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) in the triple jump (40-9 3/4).
Gettysburg continues its season next Saturday at the Millersville Metrics.
