CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Ursinus Men's Cross-Country team began their stretch run by competing in the DeSales Invitational on Saturday morning.
 
The Bears finished fifth of the 20 teams in the field with 171 points that included four teams in the metro regional rankings and a pair of NCAA Division II teams as well. Among Division III teams, the Bears finished third as a team only to Swarthmore (2nd in Metro) and the host Bulldogs (8th in Metro) while placing higher than TCNJ (3rd in Metro) and Stevens (7th). Ursinus entered the race ranked ninth in the metro region.
 
Junior Tucker McGrath led the Bears on the 8K course with an eighth-place finish after posting a time of 26:20.10, blitzing his old personal best 8K time. He was sixth among Division III runners in the race. Sophomore Paul Faggioli finished 18th overall and second among Bear's runners with a personal-best time of 26:40.30. Sophomore Christian Rosado placed third among the Bears and 25th overall with his time of 27:01.20.
 
Senior Steve Wilkins placed fourth among Bear's runners and 58th overall with his time of 28:17.60 and was followed by first-year Ryan Martin in 63rd overall with a time of 28:23.30. First-year Tom Driscoll recorded a 28:29.10 in his first collegiate 8k race while finishing 66th overall and sophomore Jack Fisher registered a personal best time of 28:32.90 to finish 71st overall. First-year AJ Luthra also topped his previous 8K best with his time of 28:55.80.
 
Junior Ean Chasninoff (28:58.70), junior Payton Stanziani (29:06.60), sophomore Ethan Chambers (29:07.30), first-year Justice Scheidel (29:15.20), junior Will Gillette (29:42.30), and junior Henry Wilt (29:46.50) rounded out the Bears runners in the event.
 
The Bears return to action next Saturday, October 15th at the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Oberlin College at 11:00 a.m.
